Behaviour nets new bests in giving back

Behaviour doesn’t just make world-class games – we also do some world-class fundraising for local charities.

In April, members of our team pledged a company best $170,000 for charity during Behaviour’s annual internal fundraising campaign for charity, BeGenerous. Of this total, $125,000 will support the vital work being done by the organizations Perspectives Jeunesse and Centraide of Greater Montreal with kids at risk of quitting school. The balance will support a variety of causes and organizations selected by employees.

Launched in 2000, BeGenerous raises funds through a variety of internal activities and initiatives, including the always popular Live Auction, which raised nearly $24,000 over one thrill-filled hour. Other activities included a karaoke night, a flea market, lunch & learns, a trivia night, a 50/50 raffle, and a video game competition (of course!).

Behaviour’s support for school perseverance initiatives is rooted in our belief that education provides the tools to think critically, make informed decisions, and lead a healthy, happy life. This support is part of a wider commitment to Education under our Corporate Social Responsibility agenda, alongside Health and Sustainability. In 2022, Behaviour contributed $1.1 million in corporate donations to non-profit organizations and institutions working in these and other sectors.

“We give back to the communities we call home because it’s only fair and right,” says Marie-Eve Boisvert, Behaviour’s VP Communications. “We benefit greatly from many things they offer – their talent, their creativity, their vitality – and sharing our success with them is a belief that runs deep here at Behaviour.”

We don’t expect accolades for doing so but the news that Behaviour was named one of Canada’s 2023 Best Workplaces for Giving Back by the Great Place to Work Institute admittedly feels pretty good. Making it all the sweeter is the fact companies that make the list are determined primarily through the results of an independent employee survey conducted by the Institute. To make the list, a minimum of 90% of respondents must agree with the statement “I feel good about the way our organization contributes to the community.”

Giving back feels good. And doing it together as a team is hard to beat.
