Montreal, April 26, 2019 – Behaviour Interactive, one of North America’s largest independent video game developers, is opening its doors to 120 game creators for the Ludum Dare 44 game held April 26-28, 2019. Ludum Dare is the world’s largest and longest-running game in the world. Every four months, amateur and professional developers around the world take part in the marathon event to create a game in 3 days. As an added challenge, the game jam’s theme is only announced at the start of the event.
Amongst the participants who will spend a weekend at Behaviour’s head office creating a game from scratch, close to half are company employees. Five Behaviour mentors will be on hand day and night to offer support and guidance.
The highlight of the event will be Sunday’s awards ceremony when a jury of Behaviour employees will reward creations in the following categories: Best Game, Public Choice, Most Innovative, Most Entertaining, Respect for the theme, Best Chart, Best Sound, Most Fun, Best Vibe and Coolest.
“We are excited to host a game jam for employees and Montreal video game enthusiasts,” said Stephen Mulrooney, Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice-President of Behaviour. “Behaviour is always looking for new ways to connect with the gaming community. By opening our doors to 120 game designers, we want to create an event that brings together amazing, creative people who are united by a common passion. Our team has been hard at work for close to 3 three months to organize a game jam that will offer participants a safe and positive environment that encourages creative thinking in a non-competitive atmosphere.”
The Ludum Dare game jam at Behaviour will be live streamed on Twitch starting Friday, April 26 at 6 pm.
