As a Senior Character Artist on 7 Days to Die, you will play a key role in bringing the game's survivors, zombies, and world inhabitants to life through high-quality character creation. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will craft immersive, realistic assets that enhance the visual identity of the project.
In this role you will :
- Create high-quality game assets, including characters, clothing, hair, textures, materials, and supporting props, ensuring they meet the artistic vision and quality standards of the project.
- Own the creation of complex and hero character assets from concept interpretation through final implementation, while delivering high-quality work within production timelines.
- Optimize assets for performance while respecting technical constraints, game engine requirements, and established production pipelines.
- Collaborate closely with Art Director, Art Leads, Animators, Technical Artists, and other disciplines to ensure artistic and technical alignment throughout development.
- Contribute to pipeline improvements, and the adoption of new tools, techniques, and workflows that enhance production efficiency and asset quality.
What we're looking for :
- Experience delivering high-quality character assets for shipped titles.
- Strong expertise in character modeling, sculpting, texturing, and material creation using tools such as Blender, ZBrush, Substance Painter, Marvelous Designer and Photoshop.
- Experience creating realistic characters, clothing, and hair with a strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of anatomy, form, and visual storytelling.
- Solid understanding of game art production pipelines, including game-ready topology, UV unwrapping, baking, optimization, LOD creation, and asset integration into Unity.
- A strong portfolio showcasing realistic character art and game-ready assets.
