The Role
We are looking for a technical director to oversee all the technical endeavors undertaken by the operations team. The operations team is part of a larger core technologies group that offers frontend, backend, and live operations services to a large variety of games developed at Behaviour. The team works closely with the game services teams as well as with multiple game productions on a wide variety of initiatives to ensure our game services are scalable, reliable, fully automated, and cost-efficient.
To help us achieve our vision, we are looking for someone to be accountable for the delivery, maintenance, and improvement of all the technology developed within the operations team. While you are expected to do some people management, this role is more technical than managerial.
In this role you will :
- Steer and guide the technology developed, by defining the technical strategy, managing technical risks and mitigation plans, and making high-level design, architecture, and implementation decisions, to ensure that the infrastructure deployed and the tools developed improve overall efficiency, reliability, scalability, security, and cost of game services.
- Work with the technical leads and developers on the team, mentoring, guiding, and helping them take the best technical decisions.
- Work with other technical directors at Behaviour to align on the technical strategy.
- Work with all the stakeholders, to ensure their expectations are well met.
- Interview candidates for technical positions.
What we're looking for :
- This is a senior role with at least 8 years of prior experience in DevOps. Prior experience as a technical director is also a must.
- Technical versatility. You need to be comfortable with cloud services and platforms (especially AWS), and DevOps concepts.
- Great communication skills. You will be working with technical and non-technical people, catering the message to the right audience.
- You need to be solution-oriented and possess a collaborative spirit.
