The Role
We are looking for a Technical Director to oversee all the technical endeavors undertaken by the External Production team. The External Production team is responsible for publishing high-quality games and growing Behaviour's portfolio of trusted partners. The team supports and mentors external studios for the games published by Behaviour. Team members work with a variety of stakeholders, including, but not limited to, product managers, brand managers, creatives, and developers.

To help us achieve our publishing vision, we are looking for someone to be accountable for the delivery, operation, and technical quality of all the games developed by external partners. This role is mostly technical and does not involve direct management.
In this role you will :
  • Steer and guide the technology developed externally, by helping define the technical strategy, managing technical risks and mitigation plans, and making high-level technical design, architecture, and implementation decisions, to deliver the most successful games.
  • Support and mentor external studios to make the best technological choices given the projects constraints, as well as harness internal expertise to ensure that external teams get the support they need, and enable them to be mostly self-independent.
  • Review milestones, contracts, and various documents to protect Behaviour's interests
  • Work with other technical directors at Behaviour to align on the technical strategy.
What we're looking for :
  • This is a senior role with at least 8 years of prior experience in game development. Prior experience as a technical leader is also a must.
  • Technical versatility. You need to be comfortable with diverse topics such as networking, rendering, backend, optimization, AI as well as multiple platforms like PC, consoles and mobile.
  • Great communication skills. You will be working with technical and nontechnical people, catering the message to the right audience.
  • You need to be solution-oriented and possess a collaborative spirit.
