The Role
The Team Lead Artist ensures members of his/her team work together towards a common goal. He/she will collaborate with the Art Director and the Technical Art Director to provide a framework to produce artistic elements. He/she will also establish and foster a creative and motivating work environment for their team.
The ideal candidate for this role is recognized for his/her sense of responsibility, his/her leadership and ability to set objectives and deliver results. He/she has the necessary background and experience to oversee the work of the artists in their team, and to support them in their daily tasks.
In this role you will :
  • Take charge of a team of artists in one or several disciplines;
  • Monitor ongoing tasks;
  • Work with the Producer to assess the project development status and risks;
  • Manage the development of artistic elements according to schedules and production constraints;
  • Understand the pipeline and tools;
  • Follow up on the artists’ work, including performance evaluations, career development, and
  • Upgrade of their professional skills;
  • Use your art skills and experience to provide a framework for the development of artistic elements, and ensure they are in line with the artistic vision;
  • Prepare and manage art budgets according to the project’s needs.
What we're looking for :
  • 7 years’ experience in video game development;
  • Previous experience as a Lead on a AAA production or 3 years’ experience as a Lead on other types of projects;
  • Basic knowledge of 3D animation;
  • Knowledge of the most common digital art software used for video game production;
  • Good command of Maya (Blender and 3DS Max a plus);
  • Interest in the latest software and new technologies used in art;
  • Good command of the MS Office suite;
  • Ability to think strategically and find solutions;
  • Production experience with Unreal and/or Unity required;
  • Ability to manage priorities;
  • Good command of English and French.
