The Role
Midwinter Entertainment was founded as an independent game developer in 2016. In 2022 we proudly became a Behaviour Interactive company and are now working on our next unannounced title. We believe in a culture of playfulness, fearlessness, and respect, and we aspire to create a thriving community that shares in our values, both around our games and in our workplace.

Midwinter is looking for a Systems Designer to join our talented team.  We are a small studio where the impact of your work will be felt in the games that we make.

You will help create a unique vehicle player experience using Unreal Engine 4.  You will be working with a highly experienced team with a lot of passion and energy (and a world-class physics and vehicle gameplay engineer!).  Your work will directly contribute to the success of our yet-to-be-announced project where the vehicle experience is central!
In this role you will :
  • Create a vehicle experience with a ratchety, analog feel
  • Champion vehicles as a feature and coordinate across disciplines to bring them to life
  • Create, develop, and maintain driving and vehicle systems
  • Review and give feedback on all aspects of the game in regular playtests
  • Field team feedback from regular playtests and use it to guide development of vehicles
What we're looking for :
  • 4+ Years of industry experience
  • Experience designing, developing, and implementing vehicles and vehicle-related systems
  • Experience working with Unreal physics or equivalent physics systems
  • Experience with Unreal Editor and third person action games
  • Enthusiasm to work cross-discipline to bring an experience to life
  • Bonus: One or more shipped titles
  • Appreciation for old, beat-up trucks a plus

  • While we believe all the listed qualifications are important to the role, we’re keen to hear from anyone who believes they have valuable experience to bring.  If you’re passionate and align with our team and mission, but don’t meet all the qualifications, please still apply!

JOIN US AND WE'LL KEEP WARM TOGETHER!
